About 25:35 Ministries

25:35 Ministries was born out of a dream.

Josiah giving a homeless man a glass of water

Jesus placed it into the hearts of Co-founders Kevin and Linda Hemmer and Alan and Linda Martinson to reach, connect, and serve the homeless and less fortunate across Jefferson and St. Louis Counties.

After much prayer, planning, and support, the ministry was born from Matthew 25:35 ESV.

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me”

How Do We Interpret This Verse?

God desires our existence to be abundant with compassion, affection, and kindness — the hallmarks of His Kingdom. As disciples of Jesus, we face a decision: confront unsettling truths with apprehension and evasion or accompany Him in addressing the pressing challenges of our times with hope and love.

Our Story

Launched at the apex of the COVID pandemic in 2020, we began our Christ-centered ministry to reach, connect with, and serve a growing homeless population across Jefferson and St. Louis Counties.

We provided food, clothing, sleeping bags, and other essentials. As we grew, we began to help locate temporary housing, support transportation needs, reconnect families, and connect people to group residences and support organizations.

At its heart, 25:35 Ministries is about faith, love, compassion, and respect. We get to know and appreciate these individuals we call our friends.

We listen. We learn their stories. We pray with them and for them. Our commitment to the over 200 we humbly serve, is to them, their humanity, and their future.

Our Founders

Kevin and Linda Hemmer

Kevin & Linda

Kevin and Linda Hemmer have compassion for our friends who are less fortunate and homeless.  They had struggles they could overcome early in their three decades of marriage.  They have a daughter, son-in-law, two granddaughters, one great-grandson, and two dogs.

Kevin works for a nationwide janitorial and maintenance company, and Linda works for a financial institution dealing with fraud and investigative work. They are involved in the Prayer and Welcome team at their church. In their free time, they love spending time with family and friends and traveling in their travel trailer.

Alan & Linda

Alan and Linda have a heart for people experiencing homelessness and those battling addictions, as they have had family members who have struggled, and they have walked that road alongside them. Little did they know that this is where God would lead them to help others in the same situations. They have been married since 1984 and have eight children and two grandchildren.

Alan works for the local utility company, and Linda invests much of her time in the ministry. They are involved in their church, leading a small group Bible study, and they are part of the counseling and marriage mentoring ministry. Al & Linda love entertaining people in their home and investing in people’s lives.

Alan and Linda Martinson

“No one has ever looked for me or told me they loved me.”
